For infants & children from birth to 12 yrs. Also for pregnant & breastfeeding women looking to support their child's health.
3 billion live probiotic cultures + 0.75g of prebiotic fibres, guaranteed until end of expiry.
From birth onwards, For your child's health can support digestive health and immunity. Research shows that having good probiotic levels helps to support digestion, immunity and energy for infants and children, in particular:
Children given antibiotics may develop an imbalance of good and bad bacteria in the intestines, as antibiotics deplete normal levels of probiotic bacteria. An imbalance in the gut can manifest in the form of allergies and digestive problems in children, such as diarrhoea or constipation. Supplementing your child's natural healthy bacteria can contribute to their overall health and wellbeing.
Probiotics and prebiotics can support a healthy immune system in infants & children: A healthy balance of probiotics in the intestines is thought to provide specific enzymes needed in the digestion of particular substances, production of B complex vitamins and vitamin K, and improves the absorption of minerals and nutrients in the diet, such as calcium, essential for young children.
OptiBac Probiotics For your child's health is a natural supplement, and is completely free from sugars, artificial flavours & colourings which can be found in other childrens probiotics. At OptiBac we specialise in probiotics, and only use strains of the highest quality, with extensive research behind them.
The types of probiotic that naturally reside in an infant's or child's intestines are very different from the types found in adulthood. Bifidobacterium infantis and Bifidobacterium bifidum are the dominant and most important beneficial probiotic cultures found in healthy infants and children during their early years; this product contains both of these probiotics, in strains which have been tested for their benefits in supporting digestion, immunity and resistance to infection.
This supplement contains a third probiotic, Lactobacillus acidophilus Rosell-52, which has been clinically shown to survive stomach acidity and to reach the gut where it can support the overall digestive health of your child. The prebiotic, fructooligosaccharides (FOS), in For your child's health helps maintain high levels of Bifidobacteria by acting as a food source for the probiotics to survive and flourish in the intestines.
At OptiBac Probiotics we appreciate the importance of using various probiotic strains - these three probiotics will target different areas of the gut as opposed to just one.
Sachets are enclosed in 3 layer laminated sachets for maximum protection against heat and humidity.

Bifidobacterium infantis Rosell-33
Pregnant and nursing mothers can take For your child's health during pregnancy and breastfeeding to support healthy levels of the ideal types of beneficial probiotic bacteria for their baby's health, including Lactobacillus acidophilus and B. infantis.
At the time of birth, if as a mother you have healthy levels of friendly bacteria, these will be passed to your baby during the birthing process. As the baby passes through the birth canal, it literally swallows good bacteria from the mother, and this acts as a natural booster for the child's immunity and general wellbeing. This is why babies born by Caesarean section often develop digestive issues such as irregular bowel movements or food intolerance. Pregnant women expecting a vaginal birth can take OptiBac Probiotics For your child's health during pregnancy to ensure healthy levels of friendly bacteria pre-birth.
Following birth, the infant's microflora is influenced by diet (breast milk or formula), environment, and medicines such as antibiotics. The natural development of the probiotic Bifidobacteria in infants is favoured by breast-feeding; studies have found higher concentrations of Bifidobacterium infantis and Bifidobacterium bifidum in breast-fed infants as opposed to babies bottle-fed with formulas. Many nursing mothers take For your child's health while breastfeeding to help support their child's levels of friendly bacteria during this time.
'For babies & children' (For your child's health) can easily be mixed with your child's favourite cold foods or beverages. This OptiBac Probiotics supplement can be taken with formula milk when it is at room temperature, but not when warmed (as heat reduces the viability of natural bacteria.)

"My 10 year old daughter has been in pain for three years and ended up very poorly. The doctors thought it was food allergy but we excluded dairy, wheat, gluten and soya with no improvement. At one point she was so ill she had to be pushed around in a buggy. I suspected yeast was an issue but wanted to put the "good bacteria" into her gut and was delighted to find Optibac was yeast free. Instant relief, the pain has gone. We have now established that yeast is the main problem but it was the Optibac which stopped the pain. I would recommend it to anyone with digestive problems. My daughter has allergic asthma as part of her problems and she has Optibac every day now and I am sure this is helping to control her symptoms. Don't ever stop making this product!!"
"My 3 year old daughter had pretty bad eczema. We first saw a food allergist who recommended eliminating dairy, wheat and a few other things as well as using Ecover. There was a massive improvement in her skin but with the odd flare up. I then read an article about probiotics helping eczema so I bought 2 months supply of optibac. During this time we also saw a cranial osteopath. The process started last November so this is not a quick fix in my opinion. By now (July) her skin is fantastic, I have bought another 2 months supply of optibac as I firmly believe that is due to a combination of all three things. She can now eat anything within reason and sensibly without a flare up, she is hardly ever ill, never has a cold and I believe the optibac has really strengthened her insides. Would DEFINITELY recommend."
"My 4 months old baby suddenly developed a rash on his cheeks, I took him to see the GP who told me to add Oilatum to his bath as it was only 'dry skin'. A few days later the rash moved down to his belly, arms and legs, so I took him to see a private doctor who told me to apply vaginal thrush cream and that should clear it, of course I didn't do that as I could not bring myself to using such a strong cream on my baby's skin. Then, a pediatrician said my baby was lactose intolerant and I should stop breastfeeding and he would prescribe him some pre-digested formula because my baby was also suffering from reflux, I could not understand how a doctor could take away breast-milk in favour of some formula. By then, the rash has become crusty and really aggressive, so I did some research and came across this website, immediately bought a box and started giving him with a little breast-milk as well as me taking it, and the results are just amazing, so far, after just 1 week, my baby has no more reflux and the crusty red aggressive rash has 95% disappeared. I have recommended it to my sister as his 4 year old is also full of eczema, hopefully he will benefit as much as my baby from this fantastic product!! This should be recommended to all pregnant women and babies by GPs, midwives and Pediatricians before prescribing toxic medicines or creams!! "
"I have tried just about everything I can think of to treat my 3 month old daughter's eczema but as yet nothing has worked. After reading the reviews of these probiotics I couldn't wait to try them but unfortunately they did not work for her. They did slightly improve the redness in her cheeks but have had no impact on the rest of her body. After reading the reviews I have been left really disappointed."
Dear Kelly, I’m sorry that this didn’t completely clear up your daughter’s eczema. Eczema is a complex condition and I’d recommend taking her to see a health care practitioner. Certainly probiotics can be helpful, but what works for one will not always work for another. It’s promising at least that she had some relief on her cheeks – I wonder how long you gave it to her for and if it’s worth trying her on it for longer, to see if similar results come through on the rest of her body? Other things which can often help are to supplement with omega 3 fish oil for babies, and to look for alternatives to cow’s milk-based formula if she is taking a bottle, or if breastfeeding then try to see if there’s anything in your diet which could be involved e.g. dairy, wheat. I hope you find a solution. Best, Megan Crowch
"I was very sceptical when I ordered the first box of probiotics as I have tried just about everything for my 10 month old who suffers from eczema. But on the second day of using them I noticed the eczema on his face was not so red and inflamed, on the third day other people started to notice this improvement and I have to say I'm amazed by the difference the probiotics have made in such a short period.
